107th Meeting of the Working Party on Export Credits and Credit Guarantees (ECG)
29 (afternoon) and 30 May 2006
- The Members of the OECD’s Working Party on Export Credits and Credit Guarantees (ECG) met on 29 (afternoon) and 30 May 2006 for a Special Session on the Environment to progress the review of the OECD Recommendation on Common Approaches on Environment and Officially Supported Export Credits (the “Recommendation”) which is due to be completed by the end of 2006. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Nicole BOLLEN (Netherlands).
- The ECG received a report from Mr. Brendan BERNE, Australia, who had chaired the consultation between the ECG and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on 29 (morning) May 2006. The CSOs had made a number of proposals for amendments to the Recommendation, which would help inform its review; a summary of the meeting with the CSOs is also available on this Web site.
- The ECG subsequently discussed in detail all the elements of the Recommendation, with a view to identifying those that might require adjustment in a revised Recommendation. The ECG also received a brief presentation from Ms. Motoko AIZAWA of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on the IFC’s new Performance Standards.
- The ECG will meet again in September 2006.
