    This annual publication provides information on policy developments and related support to agriculture in OECD countries and selected partner economies, measured with the OECD Producer Support Estimate methodology. Countries covered by the report represent almost 90% of the global value added in agriculture. The report includes a general discussion on developments in agricultural policies and two-page country snapshots. Detailed country profiles and statistical tables are available online.

    This newly released publication reviews current knowledge about agricultural policy and agricultural trade policy settings, and aims to inform and assist policy-makers and negotiators as they seek to overcome the problems encountered in the agricultural pillar of the Doha Development Agenda trade negotiations. The data and analysis presented cover OECD countries and major G20 and emerging economies that account for the great bulk of global food production, consumption and trade.

Key Areas in Agricultural Policies and Support

Producer and Consumer Support Estimates Database
Governments provide support to agriculture in the form of transfers through a wide variety of policy measures. OECD has developed a set of indicators, including the Producer Support Estimate (PSE), designed specifically to monitor and evaluate the level and composition of this support.

Risk Management in Agriculture
OECD analysis takes a holistic approach to risk management that focuses on the interactions between different types of risks, of strategies undertaken by farmers, and of government policies that impact on risk management. The studies undertaken by OECD cover a wide range of areas, from livestock diseases that impact at both the international and national levels, climate change, food security, and on risks that affect, in particular, farmers working in developing countries.

Fertiliser and Biofuels Support Policies
This OECD database is a compilation of policies relating to support within the fertiliser and biofuels sectors of several countries. The data cover the period from 1995 to 2012 for biofuels and from 2000 to 2012 for fertilisers, depending on data availability.

Agricultural Policy Monitoring and Evaluation

Innovation in Food and Agriculture
