This framework introduces a risk-based oversight and management methodology for clinical trials. It combines a stratified approach that is based on the marketing authorisation status of the medical product and can be applied in a common manner across countries’ regulatory frameworks, with a trial-specific approach that considers other issues such as the type of populations concerned by the trial, or the informed consent of the patients.
Increasingly complex and inconsistent clinical trial regulations are causing delays, raising costs and leading to a decline in the number of international trials conducted by academics for non-commerical purposes.
The future will be inherently knowledge-based. Are we moving in the right direction? What must we know to be able to get there? Understanding knowledge-based capital is an important first step.
Better connectivity is significantly related to higher levels of local digital content creation, and countries with more Internet infrastructure are also those which produce more local digital content. Countries with more international connectivity have lower domestic broadband prices, and countries with better domestic infrastructure have lower international bandwidth prices.

This report addresses a number of policy-relevant themes around innovation and inclusive development. It provided background reflection for a conference on the topic organised by the OECD and South Africa’s Department for Science and Technology on 21 November 2012 in Cape Town.
This report shows that despite the financial crisis, business-to-consumer e-commerce has grown steadily across the OECD, spurred by the spread of mobile devices, easy-to-use payment mechanisms and participative web tools such as price comparisons or consumer ratings. Trust in e-commerce, however, remains challenged by many issues.
The purpose of this review is to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the key
elements, relationships and dynamics that drive the Swedish innovation system and the
opportunities to enhance it through government policy.
This April 2012 workshop provided a forum for critically evaluating the different risk assessment practices being used in various jurisdictions while gathering the views of stakeholders from governments, businesses, consumers and academia.
In 2017 a household with two teenagers will have 25 Internet connected devices. In 2022 this will rise to 50, compared with only 10 today. In households in the OECD alone there will be 14 billion connected devices, up from 1.7 billion today and this doesn’t take into account everything outside the household and outside the OECD. All this leads to the smart world discussed in this paper.
This paper presents a new edition of the project's technical guidelines including methodological guidelines, a core model questionnaire and instruction manual, and the output tables used for reporting data at the international level and related definitions.
