Every two years, the OECD conducts a major review of key global trends in science, technology and innovation (STI) and STI policies, and based on the latest information and indicators, examines country performances in science and innovation along with the most recent national innovation policy developments. A synthesis of this work is published in the OECD Science, Technology and Industry Outlook.

The Science, Technology and Industry e-Outlook is a new, interactive web-based portal that provides full access to all the qualitative and quantitative information collected during the production process of the OECD Science, Technology and Industry Outlook 2012. In addition to the 2012 policy and country profiles, the STI e-Outlook includes a new science and innovation policy database, a dataset for innovation policy analysis and dynamic tools for countries to benchmark their performance against others. It is an interactive environment that creates new linkages between thematic policy profiles and country profiles, and provides direct access to the STI policy database and statistical framework.

This work was carried out under the aegis of the OECD Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP).
