At the 62nd session of the Steel Committee  on the 17 May 2007 in Istanbul, several presentations were given on the situation in the steel markets in Member and Non-member economies,  as well as the outlook for steel markets.

Following the Steel committee meeting there was a roundtable on consolidation in the World Steel Industry, discussing the consolidation given the rapid pace of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions by steel companies in recent years meant there was a very interesting debate with particiapants relating to this subject.
