The STI Scoreboard illustrates and analyses a wide set of indicators of science, technology, globalisation and industrial performance in OECD and major non-OECD countries. It includes the latest figures for R&D, foreign direct investment, risk capital and technology-related trade.
The aims of the workshop were to examine recent trends in international sourcing in view of the crisis. It was designed to provide an overview of recent development, the needs of the IT services demand side, challenges on the suppluy side, and to draw out lessons for strategy and policy.
Speaking at the Conference on empowering E Consumers in Washington, Mr. Gurría noted that the Internet economy is becoming one of the dynamos for international trade and the global economy as a whole.

Governments, working together with consumer organisations, teachers’ and parents’ associations and other civil society groups, should do more to promote consumer education. The aim should be to help consumers develop critical thinking and raise awareness, according to new policy recommendations (“Consumer Education: Policy recommendations of the OECD’s Committee on Consumer Education”) recently endorsed by the OECD’s Committee on
