OECD annual inflation slows to 1.7% in January 2013

05/03/2013 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 1.7% in the year to January 2013, compared with 1.9% in the year to December 2012. This easing in the annual rate of inflation mainly reflected the slower growth in energy prices, which increased by 1.8% in the year to January, down from 2.9% in the year to December. Food prices remained unchanged at 2.1% in the year to January. Excluding food and energy, the annual inflation rate was stable at 1.5% in January.
