OECD annual inflation slows to 1.4% in February 2014

01/04/2014 - Consumer prices in the OECD area rose by 1.4% in the year to February 2014, compared with 1.7% in the year to January 2014. This slowdown in the annual rate of inflation was driven by energy prices which fell by 0.4% in the year to February compared with an increase of 2.1% in the year to January. Food price inflation picked up slightly to 1.6% in the year to February, compared with 1.5% in the year to January. Excluding food and energy, the OECD annual inflation rate was stable for the fourth consecutive month at 1.6% in February.
