OECD GDP growth steady at 0.2% in third quarter of 2012

21/11/2012 - Provisional estimates show that quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) in the OECD area grew by 0.2% in the third quarter of 2012, the same rate as in the previous quarter, but with continuing diverging patterns across countries.
In the United States, growth accelerated to 0.5%, compared with 0.3% in the second quarter. In the United Kingdom, the London Olympic and Paralympic games boosted growth which accelerated to 1% compared with a contraction of (minus) 0.4% in the previous quarter. Growth also picked up in France to 0.2%, compared with minus 0.1% in the previous quarter.
