OECD GDP growth slows to 0.2% in second quarter of 2012

27/08/2012 - Provisional estimates show that quarter-on-quarter growth in gross domestic product (GDP) in the OECD area slowed to 0.2% in the second quarter of 2012, compared with 0.5% in the previous quarter.
GDP growth fell sharply in Japan (to 0.3%, compared with 1.3% in the previous quarter) and continued to slow in the United States (to 0.4%, compared with 0.5% in the previous quarter). In both the Euro area and the European Union as a whole, GDP contracted by (minus) 0.2% after having been stable in the first quarter.
