The performances of each region impinge on its specific natural assets and economic resources. Geographic location, land use, natural and cultural amenities, economic specialisation and demographic trends are among the main causes of the prosperity of a region. To classify regions according to their specific assets, three different territorial typologies have been developed.
OECD eXplorer is a leading edge tool for exploring and analysing regional statistics, using a very interactive interface that combines maps with other visual presentations for selecting the groups of regions of interest to the user.
OECD Regions at a Glance provides region-by region indicators – mainly in the form of graphs and maps – to identify areas that are outperforming or lagging behind. OECD Regions at a Glance 2009 is organized around four major themes and a special focus on regional innovation.
