President of the Italian National Institute of Statistics since 1st June 2001. Prof. Biggeri has published books, monographs, articles and papers for more than 170 scientific works in the field of economic statistics. His research activity focused mainly on: organization of complex surveys, control of data quality, setting up price indexes, organization of the Statistical Survey System and the National Statistical System, protection of the privacy, diffusion of statistical information and statistical culture, methods for the evaluation of public interventions and evaluation of efficiency, effectiveness and quality of public services.
