Mr Heady is of British nationality and has worked at the OECD since 1 June 2000. Before that he was Professor of Applied Economics at the University of Bath, a position he held since 1990.  He has also held faculty positions at Yale University and University College London as well as being a research associate at the Institute for Fiscal Studies.  He has also worked on tax policy as a consultant for The World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is an economist and obtained his first degree from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
