1951-69: - Treasurer-General in the Netherlands, Ministry of Finance. As such, he was responsible for the formation of economic policy, in particular of financial, budgetary and monetary policy; also in this capacity, he attended the annual meetings of the IMF, the IBRD and IDA. - Governmental Delegate to the Organisation for Applied Scientific Research in the Netherlands (TNO)
