Agronomist Engineer and Master in Rural Sociology, specialist in agrarian and rural development. Director of International Economic Relations (Direcon) since December 1, 2004. During this period of time, Mr. Furche led trade negotiations with Japan, China, P4 (Singapore, New Zealand, Brunei and Chile), India, Bolivia, Ecuador, Panama, Colombia and Peru. National Director of the Office of Studies and Agrarian Policies (ODEPA) of the Ministry of Agriculture from March 1994 to November 2004. The main functions of ODEPA are:
President of the Directive Council of the Information Center in Natural Resources, CIREN, from 2000 to March 31 of 2006. Currently a member of the board. Member of the Directive Council of the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation, from 1996 to November 2004. Member of the Directory of COTRISA, a state company that supports the domestic commercialization of wheat, from 1994 to 2003. Since 2000, Agricultural Negotiating Head of Chile, the person in charge of negotiation with respect to sectoral subjects of the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union, the United States and South Korea, as well as of the multilateral negotiations in the World Trade Organization. Technical coordinator of the Inter-ministerial Committee in charge of revision and adjustment of policies and instruments to promote support of the farming sector, as well as of public institutions. International consulting with diverse organisations such as the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, the IICA and the FAO.
