Loek Boonekamp

Mr. Boonekamp is currently Head of the Trade and Markets Division of the OECD’s Directorate for Agriculture. In this function he is responsible for the OECD’s medium term outlook for agricultural commodity markets, an activity which is frequently used as background for forward looking analysis of trade and domestic policy changes. Other activities that fall presently under his responsibility include part of the Agriculture Directorate’s trade analysis work, the analysis of food economy issues and work on the economics of bioenergy and the related policy issues.

Prior to his current position he has had various other assignments in the Directorate for Agriculture, notable as Head of the Statistics Section and as a market analyst. Before his arrival at the OECD, Mr. Boonekamp was an economist and policy analyst with the Dutch Ministry for Agriculture. He is member of the Advisory Boards of a number of international projects related to his field of competence.  He holds a master’s degree from the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands.
