Ms. Soledad Blanco
Directorate General for Environment, Director of International Affairs
Since 2004 Soledad Blanco is Director of International Affairs in the European Commission's Directorate General for Environment, which she first joined in 2000 as Head of Unit for Enlargement and Neighbouring Countries.
As Director, in addition to overseeing the environmental aspects of Enlargement and EU Neighbourhood Policy, she is responsible for Global Environmental Governance, Environmental Aspects of the EU Development Cooperation Policy, Trade and Environment, Global Biodiversity and Biosafety, and International Environmental Agreements.
Before joining DG Environment, she worked for several years in DG Employment and Social Affairs and DG Energy.
