Ms. Ladan MANTEGHI

Ladan Manteghi serves as Director of International Affairs at AARP, a 35 million member nongovernmental organization representing and addressing the interests of persons age 50 and over. Ms. Manteghi has more than 15 years combined public, private and nonprofit sector experience in international relations, communications, program management and advocacy.

At AARP, Ms. Manteghi's main responsibility is the execution of international affairs campaigns and the expansion of AARP's liaison and cooperation with other like-minded international organizations and governments.

Previously, as Project Manager in the Office of International Affairs, Ms. Manteghi tracked international developments and designed forums on pensions, older workers and age discrimination. She helped position AARP as a resource and respected voice representing the interests of the 50+ population with key economic policy domains including the World Economic Forum, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the European Commission and with opinion leaders in European nations.

Prior to joining AARP in early 2002, Ms. Manteghi provided management and operational support to PowerUP, a nonprofit focused on bridging the digital divide by developing programs for youth in underserved communities. As Director of Organizational Outreach at Voter.com, she developed issue and advocacy campaigns for corporations and national nonprofits using electronic media. Ms. Manteghi has also served in various government agencies. As Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Public Outreach and Intergovernmental Affairs, she worked with multilateral organizations and leaders in government, business, labor and the nongovernmental organization (NGO) community. Ms. Manteghi was a staff member in the Clinton/Gore '96 presidential campaign, organizing the Vice President's campaign activities. She has served in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Interior working with various stakeholder groups and with foreign, state and local governments.

Ms. Manteghi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science - Public Service from the University of California at Davis.
