 Deputy-Director for finance and planning of health care services:
 Responsible for redesigning insurance structure and budgeting process

1996-2001: Ministry of the Interior
 Director for labour relations in the public sector
 - In charge of negotiations on pensions and social security issues
 - Member of the (informal) group of European Directors-General in charge of   public service

2001: Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment:
 Director General for Labour Relations and International Affairs
 - Chairman of the national negotiating board between government and    social partners:
  Responsible for 3 national agreements with social partners on wages, social   security
  and pensions (2002, 2003 and 2004)
  Responsible for designing and implementing a new supervision structure in the area of
  second-pillar pensions
 - Member of the Employment Committee (EU) (2001-2003)
 - Member of the Social Protection Committee (EU) (2001-2003)
 - Chairman of the European Social Protection Committee (2003-2005):
  Responsible for the Social Inclusion report, and (in cooperation with EPC)  
  the first Joint Report on Pensions for both Social Affairs Council and EcFin Council
