Head, Entrepreneurship Indicators Project, OECD
Tim Davis is currently managing a Unit in the OECD Statistics Directorate that is producing some key business statistics, with a focus on indicators of entrepreneurship and determinants of entrepreneurship. He joined the OECD in 2005 to undertake a study of the feasibility of producing better entrepreneurship indicators. His previous career was with the Government of Canada where he worked in research and management positions at both the Economic Council of Canada and Statistics Canada. At the National Statistics Agency, he last worked as Director-General in the Business and Trade Statistics Field with responsibility for several programs, including Agriculture; Transportation; Small Business Statistics; and Science, Innovation and Electronic Information. At that time he also served as the Canadian Focal Point for OECD work to improve statistics on SMEs. Previously he served as Director of the Geography; Communications; and, Public Institutions Divisions. In his various management positions his focus has been on facilitating information dissemination, access and use and has worked closely with public and private sector organisations to improve relations and facilitate effective use of government information.
