Mr. González de Aragón was elected as Auditor General of Mexico for the period 2002 – 2009 given his deep knowledge and expertise in public accounts auditing, government planning, budget and expenditures control, acquired during his participation in several public entities, private institutions and professional associations. He currently chairs the Mexican Association of Superior Auditing and Governmental Control Entities (ASOFIS) as well as the INTOSAI Public Debt Committee. Besides, he occupies the position of First Vice-Chairman of the INTOSAI Governing Board and, from November 2007 on, he will chair its Governing Board. His experience and commitment with transparency, accountability, and governance promotion has been broadly recognized, and he is often invited to share his views in international forums.
