Ahmed Lahlimi Alami, 68 years old, out of witch 30 as a high public servant, is a born communicator and a man of specific missions. As the head of the High Commission of Planning (HCP), it is him who is conducting now the prospective reflexion of “Morocco 2030”.
In his successive nominations - from the development of the southern provinces to the price regulation, passing by the representation of Morocco in international organizations- his passage was always remarkably noticed by his capacity at resolving issues.
Economist and a socialist militant, Mr. Lahlimi started his political career while studying in Fez and Rabat (1958-1963) inside the National Union of Moroccan Students (UNEM) where He was one of major leaders. In 1966, He got his master’s degree in economics geography and taught for a short period in the Rabat University.

From 1968 until 1971, He was successively Director of technical and economic studies and then vice General Director of the Agriculture Bank (CNCA) before insuring the position of General Secretary of the Tourism Ministry in 1971 and then of the Planning and Regional Development Department in 1973.

Close to Abderrahim Bouabid, the charismatic leader of the Socialist Party (USFP), he was in charge of his cabinet when Mr. Bouabid became a state minister in 1983. Mr. Lahlimi also headed the Bouabid Foundation for culture and science.
Mr. Lahlimi played a major role in the constitution of the government of Mr. Abderrahman

Youssoufi when He was nominated by King Hassan II as a prime minister. Mr Lahlimi was in charge of the General Affairs of the Government, the Social Economy and Handicraft Department, a position that He kept until the 2002 election. He then left the government and was nominated a years later by His Majesty Mohamed VI as the head of the High Commission of Planning.
