Present Position
General Director of APAT (Italian Agency for Environmental Protection and Technical Services), from October 31, 2002 and Chairman of the Federal Council of the  Environmental Protection Agencies of the Italian Regions and Autonomous Provinces
In this position Mr. Cesari has, among other duties,  the overall  responsibility for the Annual Environmental Data Yearbook prepared by APAT, in cooperation with other Italian institutions such as the National Statistical Institute and the Regional/Provincial Environment Agencies, containing major environmental indicators, also  based on related  socio-economic and territorial data and information.

Past Appointments and Professional Experience include:
Director of ANPA (Italian National Environmental Protection Agency), from July 2001 to October 2002;
Member of the Board of ANPA, from March 2001 to July 2001;
Member of the Board of ENEA (Italian Agency for New Technology, Energy and the Environment), from August 2000 to March 2001;
Director, Technology Unit, of the “Pugliese Aqueduct”, the Joint Stock Company responsible for the management of the entire water cycle for the “Puglia” and “Basilicata” regions, from October 2000 to July 2001;
Director level positions since 1985, with a thirty-year experience in the coordination, direction and supervision of major projects, studies and consulting services in the sector of engineering and applied research for public and private enterprises, international institutions and financial organizations in Italy and abroad.
Planner, organizer and manager of several training courses for technical and post-graduate personnel in the field of technology transfer to developing countries.
