Mrs Kaija Hovi is graduated in 1970 with a M.Sc. in Economics from the Univer-sity of Helsinki. She is the Director of Statistics Finland unit for Structural Business Statistics. In this duty she is responsible for the information society statistics among other business-related statistics, e.g. innovations, R&D statistics and some envi-ronmental areas.  She has worked at Statistics Finland since 1969 in different posi-tions in wide variety of statistical areas.  She is for example a member of Scientific Advisory Board of Statistics Finland.
