Dev Virdee

Dev Virdee: Deputy Director for Regional & Local Division of the Office for National Statistics (ONS), United Kingdom. Now also leading a new Regional & Local Analysis Unit within the division. Has worked for many years on regional and local statistics in ONS, including on Regional Accounts and Neighbourhood Statistics. Represents the UK on regional statistical matters at Eurostat and OECD working parties and in other international groups. Before coming to ONS, worked in various areas at the Department of Social Security and the Department of Trade and Industry. Has a keen interest in ensuring that statistics are used appropriately in the policy making, monitoring and evaluation processes.
