Director General for Environmental Information and Statistics at the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico
SALVADOR SÁNCHEZ-COLÓN holds a B.Sc. degree in Biology by the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Applied Statistics by the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and a M.Sc. degree in Ecology by the University of Wales, UK. He is a former (1981-2002) professor of Plant Ecology and Quantitative Ecology at the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico. From April, 2002 he is Director General for Environmental Information and Statistics at the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico. Author of several papers and books, his field of interest is the ecology of Mexico’s vegetation and the statistical analysis and mathematical modelling of biological phenomena.
