Nicolas Beytout, age 47, has performed his whole career in the press business. He graduated with a degree in law and a BA degree from l’Institut des Sciences Politiques, Paris to start as a journalist with “L’Économie” (78-80) and “La Correspondance Economique” (80-81). In 1981, he joined “Les Échos”, the main daily business newspaper in France, and became, in 1983, Head of the Economics Department. From 1985 to 1996, he was Deputy Editor (1985-1986), Editor (1986-1988), Deputy Editor in Chief (1988-1996) and became Editor in Chief in 1996 and then Editorial Director of all the publications of Les Échos Group (since 2001). At the same time, he also decided to join the radio world, firstly RTL where he was a daily morning commentator from 1992 to 2001, and then Europe 1 as a Columnist. From 1994 to 2001, he hosted on TF1 “Les Rendez-vous de l’Économie” and launched at the same time a daily interview with a famous economic and business leader on LCI, the French news TV channel. Nicolas Beytout was a member of the former National Committee on the Euro (1997 – 2002). He is currently a member of the Scientific Committee of Sciences Po’s Regulation Chair, a member of the Ethic Committee of the French Business Organization (Medef), and member of the board of the Fondation de France. He is Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur. He has won different awards for his professional contribution.
