Dae Whan Chang

Dae Whan Chang is Chairman and Publisher of Maeil Business Newspaper and TV, the No. 1 multi Media Group on economic and business area in Korea. It ranks first among local business newspapers with a daily circulation of 1,100,000 and is listed 4th in terms of circulation among all newspapers published in Korea. MBN, a nation's unique 24hour business cable channel, boasts top daytime viewership.

Dae Whan Chang started his career on newspaper as a manager of planning department at Maeil Business Newspaper and became the President and Publisher of the company in 1988. He founded Maeil Business TV News Co in 1993.

He obtained a bachelor's degree for Politics at University of Rochester in 1973. In 1976, he got the degree of M.A. in International Affairs at George Washington University. He majored in international Business Management at New York University in the United States of America and received a Ph.D. grade in 1987

He is currently operating "Vision Korea" Campaign as the company's major project. "Vision Korea" aims to present guidelines that Korea should follow for the 21 century. It is now guiding government, companies and individuals to the new paradigm of "Knowledge based Economy, Knowledge Management and Knowledge Worker". In this context, the Korean government has launched corresponding projects in most departments.

Since 2000, Maeil Business Newspaper has been hosting annual international knowledge conference named World Knowledge Forum. The fourth World Knowledge Forum was held on October 14 -17 this year.
