Cristina Garmendia

Minister of Science and Innovation, Cristina Garmendia Méndizabal holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and a Master on Executive Business Administration.

Cristina Garmendia has a large business experience in R&D intensive firms and the funding of R&D activities. Since 2001, she is the President and CEO of Genetrix, formed by eight technology-based companies in the fields of cellular and molecular therapy and aimed at developing new products and protocols for treating major diseases in HIV, pulmonary fibrosis, myocardial ischaemia and heart failure. Cristina Garmendia has also been a distinguished member serving in different executive and advisory boards.
