Current function (since 1995) Director of the Observatoire de l’énergie (Energy Survey Department) within the General Direction of Energy and Mineral Resources of the French Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable development, and Town & country planning. In this position, he is in charge of energy economics and strategic studies for the preparation of energy policy. He is especially involved in energy outlook and was rapporteur in 2006 of a National Review about the Governmental target to divide by four greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in France by 2050. He is currently Vice-chair of the Standing Group on long-term co-operation of the International Energy Agency and co-chair of the Thematic Group on Energy Strategies within the framework of the EU-Russia Energy Dialogue.
