Jan Horst Keppler is Professor of economics at the Université Paris-Dauphine and senior researcher at the Centre for the geopolitics of energy and primary resources. He is also senior research fellow at the Ifri Energy Program and in charge of the research program on “Externalities” of the Chair of Finance and sustainable development at University Paris-Dauphine.

 

His primary research interest is in the interaction of energy and financial markets with wider policy issues such as sustainable development or security of energy supply. Most recently, Professor Keppler has concentrated on carbon markets and the establishment of financial indices for low carbon enterprises.

 

In previous positions, Jan Keppler has worked as an economist at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Prognos), as director of the North America bureau in charge of scientific exchanges at the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and as an economist/principal administrator at the OECD and the International Energy Agency. He is professor at the Université Paris-Dauphine since 2004.
 
Professor Keppler publishes widely and regularly advises industry and international organisations on energy and climate change issues. Recent important publications include L’économie des passions (2008) and the The Econometrics of Energy Systems (2007).
