Agnès Bénassy-Quéré

Agnès Bénassy-Quéré has been Director of the CEPII since July 2006, taking over from Lionel Fontagné. She is a Professor of Economics at the University of Paris X Nanterre and a Professor at the École polytechnique. She holds a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Paris IX Dauphine.

Agnès Bénassy-Quéré worked as an economist in the economic policy bureau at the Ministry of Finance and Industry (1991-1992). Before joining the University of Paris X Nanterre (2000), she was a lecturer at the University of Cergy-Pontoise (1993-1996), and a professor at the University of Lille 2 (1996-1999). Former posts at the CEPII include scientific advisor (1996-1998, 2001-2003) and deputy director (1999-2000 and 2004-2006).

Agnès Bénassy-Quéré is a member of both the Economic Commission of the Nation and the Shadow ECB Council. Her research interests focus primarily on the international monetary system and European macroeconomic policy.
