Jean-Philippe Courtois is Microsoft’s Chief Executive Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He was President of Microsoft EMEA and Senior Vice President, Microsoft Corporation from 2000, and his promotion to CEO in the spring of 2003 brought him expanded responsibilities within the company’s global organisation. Mr. Courtois retains his full responsibilities as President of Microsoft EMEA, while increasing his leadership in the company’s business-decision making processes at the worldwide level.
As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Courtois oversees all of the company’s assets within the 53 countries where Microsoft operates in EMEA, and is responsible for governance across the company’s commercial and consumer businesses in the region. As a member of the worldwide senior leadership team, Mr. Courtois has responsibility for expanding the role of the company’s international country managers to enable a more consistent and global approach to Microsoft’s interactions with customers and partners around the world.
Mr Courtois has been with Microsoft since 1984. Previous roles have included Vice President of Worldwide Customer Marketing; Vice President of Microsoft Europe and General Manager for Microsoft France.
Mr. Courtois a board member of CSR Europe. He also served as co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Task Force for the Digital Divide.
