The Secretary-General will be in Korea from 3rd to 5th February 2013 on an Official Visit. He will have meetings with Mr. Lee Myung-bak, President of Korea and with Ms. Park Geun-hye, President-Elect of the Republic of Korea

While in Seoul, he will launch the report “Strengthening Social Cohesion in Korea”. This report follows up on the policy analysis and recommendations presented in the 2011 OECD “Framework for Growth and Social Cohesion in Korea”. It acknowledges that strengthening social cohesion goes beyond addressing poverty and inequality challenges and needs to address labor market, education and health issues . “Strengthening Social Cohesion in Korea” provides timely analysis, evidence-based recommendations and a policy toolkit from which the new administration can draw useful insights. It also builds on numerous experiences and good practices from other OECD countries.

Mr. Gurría will also meet with Dr. Choongsoo Kim, Governor of the Bank of Korea, Mr. Byung-suk Lee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly as well as with Deputies of the Assembly.

He will deliver Remarks on Green Growth at an event organised by the National Green Growth Committee.

The Secretary-General will have several occasions to discuss with the Media - at a Press Conference for the Social Cohesion Report as well as with Maeil Business Newspaper and at the Foreign Correspondents' Club.
