TADPD › Bernard Hoekman
Bernard Hoekman is the Director of the International Trade Department of the World Bank.
Before taking his current position he was the research manager for trade and integration at the World Bank and the manager of the trade capacity building program of the World Bank Institute. He has worked extensively on countries in the Middle East.
Before joining the World Bank in 1993 he was a research economist in the GATT Secretariat in Geneva. He is a graduate of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan and is a Research Fellow of the London-based Centre for Economic Policy Research and the Cairo-based Economic Research Forum for the Arab Countries, Iran and Turkey.
