Eskil Erlandsson was appointed Minister for Agriculture in 2006. His areas of responsibility include fisheries, food, forestry and rural development.

After graduating with a diploma in agriculture, Mr Erlandsson started his career as an agricultural and forestry worker. He served as Municipal Commissioner for Ljungby from 1983 to 1994.

Mr Erlandsson was a Member of Parliament between 1994 and 2006. Among his parliamentary roles during this time he was a member of the Committee on the Environment and Agriculture, and he chaired the Committee on Defence from 2002 to 2006.

He is a former member of the Swedish Board of Agriculture, the National Environment Protection Board and the Enquiry on Future Regional Planning, to name a few of his various public appointments.
