Mario Catania is a former Director General of the European Union DG for Market Community and International Policies.

As Head of European and International Policies at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies, Mr Catania is responsible for agriculture, agro-food, fisheries and aquaculture market policies, as well as relations with the EU in shaping and implementing the community regulations by the Council, the Parliament and the Commission.
