József Gráf was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in May 2005.

A graduate in agricultural engineering, Mr Gráf worked as chief engineer with an agricultural collective. In 1990, as president/CEO of the collective, he oversaw its transformation into a limited company. He now serves as a director on the board of two agricultural producers.


Mr Gráf was a founder of the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) in 1990, and he has been a member of parliament since 1994. He is also a member of the preparatory ad hoc committee for Hungary's national equestrian programme.
