Public consultation on Draft IOPS Good Practices for Governance of Pension Supervisory Authorities

5 July - 30 August 2013

Recognising the crucial importance of good governance for pension supervisory authorities, the IOPS Members initiated the elaboration of the draft IOPS Good Practices for Governance of Pension Supervisory Authorities in 2012. These draft good practices aim to provide a list of internationally approved good governance criteria for pension supervisory authorities.

The IOPS Members met on the occasion of five plenary Committee Meetings during 2012-2013 to prepare and discuss the text of the Good Practices. The current version is still a work in progress.

The process of the public consultation is intended to collect comments on the draft IOPS Good Practices for Governance of Pension Supervisory Authorities. It is targeted at international organisations with an interest in financial sector supervision and other relevant stakeholders. Based on the comments and feedback received through the process of the public consultation, the Good Practices will be reviewed and presented for final approval by IOPS Members at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 5 November 2013 in Seoul, Korea.

The public consultation on the Good Practices was closed on 30 August 2013.
