Simon Donoghue joined the University of Leeds in 2000, bringing a balance of academic and practitioner experience to the role, having previously held strategy and project management roles within financial services, high volume manufacturing and capital equipment manufacturing.
His academic experience focussed upon project management and strategy development and implementation. Simon has worked for several universities, and has considerable experience of working at a senior level influencing strategy.
As the Head of the Group, Simon plays a key role in leading the group and ensuring it is positioned to make a significant contribution to the development of the University.Since joining the University Simon has held responsibility for several complex change projects including a number of successful restructures, more recently concentrating upon the University Strategy project.
Simon continues to contribute to the development of project management and strategic management within the sector. He was awarded a Leadership Foundation fellowship, is the author of a book chapter, has advised several other universities and regularly presents at high profile international conferences and events.
