Joan Landeros is Director and founder of the Center for International Education at La Salle University in Mexico City. She earned her BA in History and Political Science from Immaculate Heart College and graduate degrees in Latin American Studies and TESL from UCLA. She was a Fulbright scholar at El Colegio de México and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and received a British Council scholarship to specialize in educational technology at the University of Lancaster. She was granted an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership by Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In addition to her active involvement in the Association of International Educators (NAFSA), the European Association for International Education (EAIE), Asociación Mexicana para la Educación Internacional (AMPEI), and numerous other professional organizations, she has been participating on the Standing Committee for the Lasallian Educational Mission in Rome and on the IAUP/UN Commission for Disarmament Education, Conflict Resolution, and Peace. She is the at-large Regional Director for the International Association of Lasallian Universities (IALU) and is also, an elected member of the Board of Directors of CONAHEC, the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration. Her areas of interest include international education, innovative models of education and educational technology.
