Organised by the OECD Development Centre with the African Development Bank, the UN Commission for Africa and the UNDP, the International Economic Forum on Africa has grown to become the largest annual public event on Africa in Europe. This year, the Forum celebrated its 11th anniversary with hundreds of journalists, business people, development co-operation professionals, researchers, civil society representatives and students coming together to hear and engage with a panel of experts discussing the findings of the African Economic Outlook (AEO), a comprehensive report of the economic, social and political development of the continent and assesses its progresses towards the achievement of the Millenium Development Goals.
The 2011 Forum included a full day of talks centred on two panels focusing on the relationship between the continent and the G20 and opportunities and challenges in relation to Africa's new and emerging partners. The panels were followed by a roundtable on policy reforms in Africa.
