Welcome to the official webpage for the conference on Innovative Service Delivery:  Meeting the Challenges of Rural Regions. The conference took place on 3-4 April 2008 in Cologne, Germany at the Dorint Hotel and was hosted and co-sponsored by Germany’s Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

 

The OECD Annual Rural Development Conference was organised by the Directorate of Public Governance and Territorial Development to allow policy makers from OECD countries to examine current rural policy issues and to engage in a wider dialogue with private sector, non-governmental organisations, civil society and academics.

 

The Cologne Conference brought together approximately 250 government leaders, policy makers and practitioners to identify and discuss ways to maximise the contribution of service delivery to rural development.
