The Companies Circle is a unique initiative launched in 2005 in São Paulo, Brazil on the recommendation of the Latin American Corporate Governance Roundtable, with support from the OECD, the International Finance Corporation and the Global Corporate Governance Forum. It brings together a group of Latin American companies who have adopted good corporate governance practices in order to provide private sector input into the work of the Roundtable; and to share with each other and the public their experiences in an action plan to showcase how leading Latin American companies can implement good corporate governance, and the benefits their firms have experienced from undertaking these improvements.

What's new:

Presentation of the Practical Guide to Corporate Governance: Experiences from the Latin America Companies Circle at the Council of the Americas, NYC

8th September 2009

This Practical Guide to Corporate Governance: Experiences from the Latin American Companies Circle sets out both the benefits of good governance and the different paths that these companies have taken in the Latin American context.  It provides step-by-step guidance on different aspects of implementing governance improvements, as well as empirical data on how those who have adopted such practices have benefited.  WIth evidence presented here that the benefits of good governance accrue not only in times of economic growth, but also during the most recent economic downturn, this book could not be more timely. See press release.
