• On 28-29 May 2009, the OECD hosted a High Level Meeting on Environment and Development. 
  Seventy-five high level representatives, including thirteen Ministers, Vice Ministers and Heads of Agencies, and representatives from all thirty OECD member countries and five countries undergoing Accession to the OECD participated.
  The meeting endorsed two documents during the course of this meeting: the Policy Statement and the Policy Guidance on Integrating Adaptation to Climate Change into Development Co-operation. The meeting also took note of the Progress Report that will be submitted to OECD Development and Environment Ministers. Last, but not least, the meeting laid out an ambitious, forward looking agenda for deepening the partnership between the environment and development communities.

• Sustainable financing for water supply and sanitation
• Financing for climate change adaptation
• Capacity development and governance for environmental management in the context of the Accra Agenda for Action
• Supporting low carbon development paths: win-win approaches to achieve both mitigation and development objectives.

The Joint High-Level Meeting of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) and the Environment Policy Committee (EPOC) has provided an opportunity to take stock and build upon the progress achieved since the DAC and EPOC met at ministerial level in April 2006. Decision makers have discussed urgent issues at the interface of environment and development co-operation and further deepened the strategic alliance between the Environment and Development Co-operation communities.
