Lower energy prices push OECD annual inflation down to 2.1% in January 2019

07/03/2019 - Annual inflation in the OECD area slowed to 2.1% in January 2019, compared with 2.4% in December 2018. Energy prices fell (for the first time since October 2016) by (minus) -0.1% in January, compared with a 3.5% increase in December. Food price inflation and inflation excluding food and energy were both stable in January 2019, at 1.9% and 2.2%, respectively.
