The seminar was targeted at national, regional and local practitioners who dealt with anticipating and managing demographic changes in Russia and Eastern European countries and wanted to interchange experiences and approaches with other experts from OECD countries.

During his official visit, Angel Gurría met with the President of the Russian Federation and other government officials to discuss Russia's ongoing negotiations to join the OECD.
Two workshop were held in Moscow on the topic of regulatory impact assessment in Russia, enabling an exposure to different approaches used in some leading OECD countries.
This workshop took place 4 December 2008. Its aim was to present international experience with regulatory impact assessment and provide the Russian audience with an introduction to comparative RIA methodologies.
The objective of this conference was to share experiences on how, trough CRS strategies, public and private sector, Trade Unions and local community organisations can partner to support sustainable development at local level, with a particular focus on Russia.
Organised in Helsinki on 21-22 May 2007, this seminar focused on recent developments in Russia’s business climate and investment policy, international investment in the energy sector and policies to promote responsible business conduct and the role of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

On 14-15 December 2006, senior policy-makers, experts, and representatives of the private sector from Russia and OECD countries met to discuss progress as well as remaining challenges in improving corporate governance and transparency in Russian state owned enterprises. The basis for discussion was a “Concept Paper on Corporate Governance Development of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in Russia”, which had been commissioned by the
