OECD review of regulatory reform

The OECD Review of Regulatory Reform: Canada was published in 2002 together with the background reports in the framework of the OECD Programme on Regulatory Reform.



Regulatory Policy and Governance in Canada


  • October 1, 2012, Canada’s new regulatory reforms, including the “One-for-One” Rule and the Small Business Lens were announced. The Government of Canada released the Red Tape Reduction Action Plan report. This action plan details the systemic regulatory reforms the government is putting in place to address the Commission’s report. The full directive can be accessed here.


The objective of the December 2011 and February 2012 initiatives were to promote economic growth and job creation; lower costs for consumers, businesses, producers, and governments; increase trade in goods and services across borders; and improve our ability to protect the environment, health, and safety of our citizens.
