The OECD and the Scrutiny Committee on Law Implementation of the French Senate co-organised a conference on 5 December 2013 on “Law evaluation and better regulation: the role for parliaments” at the Luxembourg Palace in Paris.
The OECD and the Municipality of San Luis Potosí in Mexico launched a programme to improve municipal formalities according to the OECD Guide.
The OECD, in co-ordination with Mexico's Ministry of Economy and COFEMER, organised a workshop to train federal officials to understake competition assessment as part of the RIA framework.
This workshop served to discuss how benchmarking and measuring regulatory performance can help advance a regulatory policy at the sub-national level.
The workshop identified key challenges in the design and implementation of one-stop shops in Hungary and ways to address them.
In collaboration with the Federal Government of Germany, the OECD organised four workshops at the International Regulatory Reform Conference (IRRC) 2013 in Berlin. The workshops focused on the use of cost-benefit analysis in governmental decision making, as well as on the role of key actors of regulatory governance in the regulatory policy cycle: Parliaments, regulatory agencies and audit offices.
The goal of the workshop was to gather policy makers and experts involved in regulatory enforcement and inspections and enable the exchange of experience among them to share approaches to inspections and their reforms.
The OECD with the Ministry of Economy, Mexico and COFEMER conducted a four-day seminar for Federal and Provincial officials, as well as academics and consultants, on how to conduct and implement Regulatory Impact Assessments
The aim of this December 2009 seminar was to increase awareness and understanding of how Indian officials responsible for regulatory policy can employ a "whole-of-government" approach to regulatory reform.
This seminar discussed how ex post law evaluation fits into the broader regulatory governance cycle, in light of the 2012 Recommendation of the OECD Council on Regulatory Policy and Governance.
