The National Territorial Review of Japan focuses on the evolution of territorial policies in Japan, notably in the fields of territorial planning, regional industrial policy, urban policy and rural development, and the significance of this reform process for achieving national policy goals such as sustaining economic growth, addressing population aging and reshaping relations between levels of government.

The OECD Territorial Review of Japan is now available from the OECD Online Bookshop. It is integrated into a wider programme of national territorial reviews undertaken by the OECD Territorial Development Policy Committee. The overall aim of the territorial review series is to provide practical policy advice to national governments.
